Yesterday was 14th January. It is the cabin Uttarayan, a kite flying day. In the early morning my bank friend Abhishek came to my house. We went to the to wri terrace of my house at 7:00 a.m. to fly kites. We saw Dema that of colourful kites. We also saw sofa that the terraces were full of people- children, young l really and old. People were flying kites of various sizes and l colours. We had lots of kites. We had two spools full l 23 write of glass powder-coated string. It was a finely honed l Sch string which cut many kites. Everybody was enjoying Cele flying kites and cutting the strings of other kites follo When any kite was cut, people shouted"Kata, Kata. They also said"Lapet, Lapet. Thus, we all enjoyed l Poin flying kites and cutting kites of others. There were aud shouts and cheerings all around. Some people also played music on tape-recorders. The whole atmosphere was very noisy. There was joy and happiness everywhere. I and Abhishek also enjoyed eating Tal sankali with kite flying. We went down the terrace for lunch. My mother served us Undhiya' twen"Jalebi' and'Fafda' in our lunch. We enjoyed our in th lunch very much. It was a day of great fun.

Yesterday, there was a magic show in our school'Sharda Vinay Mandir, Surat The great magician Mr K. Lal performed various tricks in the assembly hall at 5.00 p.m. The students the teachers and the principal took their seats in the hall. The principal garlanded the young magician and welcomed him. Then he started the magic show. Four helpers helped him in many ways. The magician showed the tricks of cards. He took out many flowers from his hat. He a paper bird into a real one. He called two boys and tied them a Then with one clap, they were separated. We enjoyed it most l He the ring of one teacher disappear from his hand. Then l he found it out in a box. For two hours he entertained us. He also taught us some tricks. Then the show ended. The show ended with clapping.

Last noon, our school arranged a visit to a wood craft factory. The factory was near Vadoda We by I We were fifty students and three teachers. We reached the factory named"Gujarat Wood craft at 10.00 a.m. The PRO welcomeds us and we were served with breakfast, tea& coffee Then he took us round the factory. We saw different sections. There were more than a hundered craftsmen making different d of craft work which included toys, furniture, wall designs, ensils, show-pieces, photoframes, etc. Iliked them most. The ftmen were highly skilled and trained. Its show room also acted us. We were pleased to see the rural art which is our itage. We spent five hours there. We noted down a lot of ormation. We returned home at about 6 p.m.

Last Saturday, our class had organized a Performance" Programme. Most of all the students participated in it. Some students brought toys made of clay, cotton and straws and grass. Some girls made dolls and puppets. Some prepared sheets, handkerchieves and wall-pieces. All these items were displayed in the exhibition. The students also prepared rangoli and niddle work. Girls drew Mahendi designs and took part in hair dressing. Some took part in origami and clay work. Most of the visitors participated with the students and prepared some items of their choice. The embroidery work also attracted the students. The l teachers inspired and encouraged the students. It was l really a memorable event.

On September 5, 2006, Teachers' Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Learners' High School, Mandvi. students were well prepared to participate as teachers on the The boys were in tidy dresses and the girls-teachers were dressed in neat, clean'saris'. They behaved like real teachers It also seemed that they had worked very hard on the subjects they were to teach They tried their best to justify their roles as teachers. The students in the classes were also greatly excited to study. The student-principal went round the school to see how everything was going on. The student-peons also carried out their jobs with great interest. All these was keenly observed by the real principal and teachers. In the last period, the students who performed their best were chosen for the prizes. As per the tradition the principal gave away the prizes. The day ended with the feeling of great achievement.
